Paediatric First Aid Course

Overview

Paediatric First Aid course: 2-day course.

Maximum 12 delegates per course.

Following successful completion of a written practical assessment, delegates will be issued with a certificate in Paediatric First Aid, valid for three years.

Course Outcome

Delegates will understand their responsibilities as a First Aider and recognise the appropriate treatment for a range of conditions and emergencies including non-breathing casualties; shock including anaphylaxis; burns and scalds (including electrical burns); bleeding; respiratory and circulatory disorders; fractures and injuries to head, neck and spine; eye injuries; bites and stings; and sudden illness including meningitis and febrile convulsions.

Who should attend?

Anyone who works with babies and pre-pubescent children in the absence of their parents. Delegates working with children who have reached puberty should hold an adult First Aid at Work certificate.
