A XL Shower & Commode Chair designed for comfort.

Tailored for use by bariatric users the design philosophy was to ensure the user’s dignity and comfort and be as easy to use as possible for the operator. The seat width is increased to 535mm, between the armrests. The height and foot-rests are fully adjustable too and the arm rests quickly fold up when needed making it easy for users to take a seat. The seat itself is ergonomically shaped and made to be difficult to slip off of while taking a shower.

The ergonomic contoured seat is just one design feature to give a stable seating position to the user, allowing them to follow their hygiene and toileting routines independently. The position gives better safety when a user is washing themselves and the chair’s chunky armrests are just the right size to hold with one hand to give more stability.

The design incorporates a wide wheelbase with space to position directly over a toilet and the brakes on the castors then ensure that the commode chair stays in just the right position without the user or a carer needing to make adjustments or have to try to hold it in place.

Aquatec’s Approach to Modular Designed Commode & Shower Chairs

This chair is just part of Aquatec’s Ocean Ergo range, all of which are designed to be modular and fully adjustable for user’s needs. This includes being able to adjust the seating position, height, foot and arm rests on the chairs but also to be able to add compatible accessories (such as different seat designs and use with pans) and replace or swap parts if needed. This also means that the chairs can be disassembled for transport and storage.
