Medirite Sponsors First Aid Training for Hellingly School: A Vital Community Initiative

Medirite recently sponsored a local Primary School, Hellingly, to undertake First Aid training for some of the students. Hellingly Primary School first started this training in 2021, after a Year 6 student saw the cardiac arrest suffered by footballer Christian Eriksen at the Euro 2020 competition. The students requested they receive First Aid training in case they ever had to deal with any similar event. This year, Medirite sponsored this training to ensure the students carried on receiving this vital knowledge!

During the sessions, which took place with Years 3 - 6, students learnt what to say if you needed to call 999, the recovery position, and they learnt about CPR. Years 5 & 6 also received some basic defibrillator training.

Hellingly School said after the event "Thank you again so much for sponsoring this event for us. We would struggle to put this important event on without your valuable financial assistance."

The ability to deliver first aid effectively is a vital skill that shouldn’t be underestimated, at any age. Equipping children with this knowledge empowers them to potentially mitigate the severity of emergencies and respond resourcefully—skills that can be life-transforming, or even life-saving.
