The suspended particles are small pieces of cornmeal, used as a scrubbing agent in place of the environmentally harmful microplastics used in many cleaners and other products. These biodegradable pieces are rough enough to dislodge dirt and engrained grime but are soft enough to avoid damage to skin and are easily washed away down sinks without causing blockages.

The orange tinge is due to the use of Orange Oil as an ingredient, this is great at binding to molecules of dirt and oil on the hands so they can be simply washed away.
