What are dry wipes used for?

Medirite’s dry wipes for adults are each 26 by 20 cms, meaning that they can be used for a wipe range of tasks including resident hygiene care and such as washing when a patient is unable to get to a shower or bath.

Bed Baths

Dry wipes are very popular for use in Care Homes, Hospices and Hospitals for bed baths as the large size of the wipes makes them easy to use and they can be used first with water and toiletries of the resident or patients preferred choice, and then also to dry the patient and remove any trace of soap etc.

Personal Cleansing

Dry wipes are ideal for any tasks where they will come into skin as unlike wet wipes they have no chemicals or alcohol in them so can be used on sensitive skin. They can however be used with soap or other toiletries.

For cleaning of intimate areas dry wipes are a good product as skin in these areas can be sensitive. Dry wipes can then be used on their own, simply with water or with a pH neutral soap.

Continence Care

Cleaning of sensitive areas may include for continence care and individuals may choose dry wipes to have with them to be able to do this themselves, adding water or other products as needed. Carers may also use dry wipes to help residents or patients with continence care tasks.

Medication

Dry wipes can also be used with some ointments and topical medication to make sure it is safely rubbed into the skin and all areas covered.
